The brief

TMRC needed a recognisable replica of the SAFE Boats patrol boat the US Coast Guard runs for its custom 3D-printed RC range. The project covered a 36-inch model, supplied as both a complete boat assembly and a separate hull file for the client’s CAD workflow.

What I modelled

  • Hull form and collar. The planing hull and the foam collar that wraps it, with the rubbing strakes and the collar segment joints.
  • Enclosed wheelhouse. The cabin volume, window frames, doors and the roof mast.
  • Deck fittings and rails. Bow rails, cleats, the aft deck grating and the transom gear.

Model geometry

Hull, cabin and deck are one assembly, so the whole boat reads as a single part set rather than a group of separate pieces.
